Chipmunk

Chipmunk flew home in the summer of 2023. Since then, she has been constantly appearing on social media, bossing her humans around and demanding that they throw her ball so she can proudly carry it back in her teeth like a dog. We are so happy for her! And here is her story.

In autumn 2022, a teenage cat appeared near our volunteer’s home. She would hilariously “hunt” mannequins in shop windows and happily run over whenever the volunteer came to feed her — not only for food, but also for cuddles and playtime. When winter arrived, the cat, nicknamed “Fashion Kitty,” settled under the awning of a basement entrance where warm air from the heating system blew outside. That winter was especially cold, and the spot turned out to be both warm and safe. All winter long, the volunteer fed her. Then one spring day, she discovered the cat with a huge, terrible wound across her back and neck.

The wound required long treatment and regular care, so returning her to the street was impossible. Because of her unusually bright coloring and the distinctive stripes on her back, she received the name Chipmunk.

Chipmunk was sterilized and vaccinated, and while she was recovering, she also found a home.

She has one of the most outrageously gangster personalities we have ever seen in a cat. In foster care, she lived with five male cats — and every single one of them marched under her command. Nobody understands how one cat can contain such a perfect combination: a sweet, affectionate cuddlebug with people, a complete hooligan and troublemaker, and at the same time an absolute feline dictator.
