Khinkali’s story is a frightening one—but also a fortunate one. And it is not over yet.
Khinkali appeared in a courtyard (that would later come under the care of Kotoprovod volunteers) back in 2020, when he was still a tiny kitten. Although he grew up outdoors, wonderful neighbors looked after him. He and the other cats always had plenty of food and places to shelter, and even the winters in this area are not too harsh. It was not a happy life, of course—but it was far from the worst a street cat can face.

Pumpkin is an incredibly affectionate and gentle cat. He loves being held, curling up on people, and kneading with his paws. He sleeps in bed with his humans, has impeccable litter box habits, and enjoys playing with toys.
Pumpkin is an adult cat, and life on the streets is especially hard for cats like him. We later learned that he had once been almost a house cat: he lived at a hotel, where people looked after him. Then the hotel closed, his caretakers disappeared, and Pumpkin was left all alone on the street.

Manka is a young, affectionate, and sociable cat. She loves spending time with people and gets along well with other cats. She loves being petted and scratched. She objects to carriers, but gives in if you scratch her behind the ears. Manka came to Kotoprovod in early March 2026. Initially, the plan was simply to have her spayed and vaccinated and then return her to the street. But several things made us change our minds: we are now looking for a loving and dependable home for her. Manka will not be returned to the street.

Licorice needed time to get used to people and reveal her wonderfully gentle and friendly nature. Looking at this domestic beauty now, you would never guess that she once had such a hard life on the streets.
This beautiful creature of darkness has been spayed, treated for parasites, vaccinated, and microchipped, and she now has her own international veterinary passport. Street infections and poor nutrition had left her with inflamed gums and loose teeth. She underwent dental surgery, and all the diseased teeth that were causing her pain were removed. Licorice now has only her canines and incisors—but, like other little toothless dragons, she can still crunch dry food and live her best life.

Ganache is a young and very affectionate cat who absolutely loves people. He is calm, purrs a lot, and makes funny little squeaky sounds — we even thought about naming him “Chick” because of it.
At every foster home, he comes out of the carrier right away and starts exploring with curiosity. Nothing seems to scare him — even when there were five dogs in nearby rooms at his first foster home, and later four people and another cat at the next one. In his current foster home, he is already building trust with an older cat and shows no aggression at all.

Violet (nicknamed Filya) is Curry’s, Olive’s, Ganache’s, Molly’s, and Katerina’s brother. Like the others, he was rescued from the same abandoned construction site where our volunteers carry out trapping and sterilization.
He was the first of his crew to come off the street — because of a persistent cough. The cough has been treated, and during his examination we also found dental problems: some teeth had to be removed. His gums still flare up occasionally and we treat them with metrogil. Otherwise he is in great health and is going to grow into an enormous fluffy guy. He is neutered, vaccinated, has all anti-parasite treatments, and also has a passport and microchip. Litter box use is perfect.

Fedya lives in Siberia, in the city of Kemerovo. One very cold winter night in 2020, he appeared on the street. He followed people, looking for attention and warmth. He is a very large dog, and people were often afraid of him. For his safety, we took him in and placed him in temporary care, where he has now been living for several years. We still hope to find him a permanent home.

Bean was caught today, July 27, and taken straight to the clinic. A thin, big-eyed beauty, she turned out to be surprisingly affectionate from the very first moments.
Bean has already been sterilized and is recovering well from the operation; her teeth are healthy. She is currently in post-op care — and that is exactly the window when she could go straight to a home instead of back outside. If no home is found by the time she is ready to leave the clinic, Bean will have to be returned to the place where she was caught.

Looking for a travel buddy
Olive is looking for a travel companion to Italy from October 2026.
Olive is Violet’s, Molly’s, Ganache’s, Curry’s, and Katerina’s sister. Like the others, she was rescued from the same abandoned construction site where our volunteers carry out trapping and sterilization.
Olive has all her vaccinations and anti-parasite treatments; she was spayed in April 2026. During the surgery we found an early pregnancy — thankfully, we were in time. Her health is great now and she uses the litter box perfectly.
