Snacker was adopted together with his best friend Potato into the same family!
His story, however, is a very hard one. In September 2023, a cat with a torn-open side appeared under our volunteer’s windows, in an inner garden that could not be accessed directly from the house. The wound looked terrible. They managed to lure him to the window with food, and that was how they caught him.
At the clinic, everything turned out to be even worse: besides the torn wound in his side and broken canines, a pellet from an air pistol was removed from his body. He was in a lot of pain. Our volunteer kept him at her home as a foster cat. It soon turned out that he was very talkative — and that is how he got the name Snacker, from the Norwegian/Danish snakker, meaning “speaks” or “chats”.
Snacker took a very long time to thaw. His trauma had affected not only his body, but also his mind. Other cats were difficult for him, and sometimes people were difficult too. But almost immediately he showed trust and love toward a barely alive kitten rescued in Dilijan — Potato. The two became almost inseparable. Snacker looked after the little one, and the little one helped him open up.
We are incredibly happy that they were able to go to the same family together. Today Snacker and Potato live with another cat and a huge elderly dog. All the furry members of the family are very friendly with each other and regularly send us greetings.
